About RDPAC
The China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment R&D-based Pharmaceutical Association Committee (RDPAC) started informally in 1995, established a representative office in Beijing in 1999, and with the support of CAEFI obtained registration with the Ministry of Civil Affair as a Committee in CAEFI in 2005. RDPAC has grown to 38 Members and includes all of the larger multinational research-based pharmaceutical companies. RDPAC is a member of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association ("IFPMA").
RDPAC is a non-profit and non-government organization whose objectives are:
1. to effectively create the best climate to assure access by Chinese patients to the benefits of new medicines;
2. to promote the development of trade, commerce, and investment between foreign research-based pharmaceutical manufacturers and China;
3. to provide a forum in which the research-based pharmaceutical business community in China can identify and discuss common healthcare interests;
4. to work with organizations in China on matters of mutual interest;
5. to develop and maintain relations with international healthcare organizations such as IFPMA, European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations ("EFPIA"), Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association ("JPMA"), Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America ("PhRMA") and related commercial organizations or industry associations.
The conditions for membership are:
1. the company is a research-based pharmaceutical company;
2. the company has business operations in China;
3. the company has agreed to the RDPAC Code of Conduct.
RDPAC has four general membership meetings per year at which industry issues are discussed and guest speakers invited to present. Much of the work of RDPAC is done through Working Groups, comprised of staff of the Member companies, who discuss issues with relevant Chinese government authorities. Currently, RDPAC has working groups in the following areas: Healthcare Economics, Drug Regulatory & Medical Affairs, Legal Affairs, Medical Representative Training & Media Communications, etc.
