Vision
Within 10 years China will have become integrated into global drug research and development, as it pushes at the frontiers of science. An increasing “market” orientation will lead to more patient-focused healthcare solutions. People will enjoy choice for the newest medicines as well as guaranteed access to basic healthcare. The inherent link between patient focus, continual investment into pharmaceutical innovation, and corresponding improvement in health and quality of life will be expressly recognized.
Mission
RDPAC is an organization of R&D-based pharmaceutical companies that strives to be recognized as a responsible partner with the Chinese government, healthcare providers and other allies in delivering innovative solutions (products, knowledge, and services) that improve the healthcare and quality of life for Chinese patients. Development of R&D Value Chain
We promote the development of the pharmaceutical R&D value chain from discovery and development to manufacturing and supply through investment, collaborations, and training. We strive to encourage scientific innovation and sharing of knowledge within the framework of a strongly enforced IPR system in order to build a market environment which supports and recognizes drug research, development and commercialization in China.
Timely Access to Innovative Medicines for Patients
We work with government and other stakeholders through technical exchange and sharing of international best practices focusing on regulatory and healthcare financing, so that Chinese patients have access to innovative medicines at the same time as patients in other major countries.
Recognition of the Value of Innovative Solutions
We work with all stakeholders to establish a pricing system that recognizes the significant cost and high risk of R&D and rewards the value innovation brings to patients and society, to further encourage investment into pharmaceutical R&D in China.
Promotion of the Highest International Practices
We endeavor to promote best international practices, in terms of business conduct, ethics and standards of operating performance (GCP, GLP, GMP, etc.), in order to integrate China into the global pharmaceutical industry and continuously improve the safety and well-being of patients.
