Over 23 thousands medical representatives passed RDPAC MRC test
2010-07-06July 6, 2010, Beijing- Wen Xiaochun, Director, Government Affairs and MRC Program announced that, "up to May 31, 2010, 28,830 person/time had attended the test of medical representative professionalism training, and 23,656 medical representatives had passed the exam, with pass rate of 82.05%. Moreover, 134 sessions of training had been organized in several cities with 9,777 medical representatives trained. "
Nowadays, healthcare industry developed rapidly in China while medical representative is still not a listed as an official profession which lead confusion in profession standard and functional position of medical representative. Therefore, RDPAC started to promote medical representative professional training program in 2005, targeting at enhancing professional capability of medical representatives, as well as regulating medical promotion activities, in order to help the medical representatives to better act as a bridge between pharmceutical company and medical professionals. With regards to the administration and profession development of medical representation in the future, Robert SIU, Managing Director of RDPAC holds the opinion that to regulate the medical representatives, professionalization is required.
Dr. Eric Bouteiller, Member of RDPAC Executive Committee, President of Ipsen China indicated, "It is meaningful for the pharmaceutical industry and society to administrate medical representative as a profession. We hope medical representative could be listed into China's Occupation Encyclopedia as soon as possible, therefore, they could be administrated in a normalized manner, to promote the normative development of medical representative as a profession and to benefit the Chinese patients."
